Medicare Part B covers services (like lab tests, surgeries, and doctor visits) and supplies (like wheelchairs and walkers) considered medically necessary to treat a disease or condition.

Medicare Part B is optional for beneficiaries, & you pay a monthly premium. If a person does not apply for Part B when initially eligible & later enrolls, they will be penalized & pay a higher monthly Part B premium.
